Character Sheets

A quick summary of the Nighthawks:33 character sheets.

Summary Block

The sheet begins with a summary block showing your background, colony of origin, and a very short description of your role in space combat. Your personal callsign is the name at the top of your sheet – there’s a story on how you got that later on the sheet for most characters. Your Gold/Red/Green code is the code for your ship.

Your character sheet should not assume the gender or pronouns of any player character in this game (or in the previous game, Ragnar). If you find gendered pronouns for these characters, that is a mistake – please let me know.

Duress

The Duress section of the sheet is a place for you to track how space combat is affecting your character. Nighthawks:33 is not intended to be a game where space combat is cool, fun, exciting in general – it’s ok if there are moments like that, but your characters are under extreme duress doing these missions over and over – and the main mood is of people barely holding on.

It’s up to you how repeated combat affects your character, the Duress mechanic is there to support this, not constrain you.

Character Background

Most of the characters have three sections on background: How You Got Your Callsign, Backstory, and What you know about the Enemy. If anything doesn’t make sense, let me know!

Connections

Every character has one positive connection, and one negative connection. These are mutual connections – your positive connection has you as a positive connection too, and your negative connection has you as a negative connection too – although the two characters may have different understandings of why.

You will also have some suggested connections with other characters.

Please feel free to discuss with other players, change connections, add to them, build new connections with other characters etc – but please keep your positive link positive and your negative link negative.
